Beauchamps High School are pleased to announce that following receipt of a grant from the Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund, work commenced on the build of a 3g pitch on Monday 23rd October 2017. The build was completed during April 2018 and the facility is now available to hire.
The school is also very pleased to announce a partnership with the Jimmy Greaves Football Academy is being developed and that more details will follow.
As it was necessary to remove some mature trees to ensure the pitch was located as far from the school boundaries as possible, a scheme of landscaping, approved by Basildon Council under the planning conditions, will be undertaken over the next few months.
In addition, Paul’s Tree & Garden Company, the subcontractors employed to fell the trees, are kindly donating additional trees and will be planting these on site as part of a student project.
The wood from the felled trees is going to be used to make picnic benches for the students and additional logs are being given to Runwell Community Primary School who are setting up a forest school on their site.
The completed pitch will provide a fantastic sporting facility for all ages and is one to which we look forward to welcoming the local community.

Archaeological Finds

During the archaeological survey which took place before the build commenced, a few sherds of Roman pottery were recovered and these are now being held by Southend Museum.
