Beauchamps High School provides outstanding support for its students, whether that is academically or for more personal matters. Teachers are always willing to stay after school or hold sessions before school to help those students who request help, or those that the school feels would benefit from the extra time. Personally, I stayed after school every Thursday until 5pm for extra maths revision with the maths department which benefited me greatly throughout my A-Levels, and in years 10 and 11 I had amazing support from Mrs Pepper when times were really tough, which was of her own accord and reflects the caring nature of the staff at Beauchamps. Each year there were many extra-curricular trips to places such as Walton-on-the-Naze for geography fieldwork or into London for extra exam preparation. Other activities are also available inside the school that are run externally, such as the IFS Student Investor Challenge which I took part in during year 12, and also the UKMT Maths Challenges. I now plan on studying Mathematics at the University of Essex in October, before becoming a Maths Teacher in the future (hopefully back at Beauchamps!).

During my time at Beauchamps, I had support from all of my subjects through revision sessions, one-on-one help, and being able to ask any of my teachers questions either via email or in person whenever I needed. All the teachers in the school try to find ways to help; for example when I was in Year 13 one of the GCSE teachers let me help in one of her classes, then asked me to hold an intervention for the year 11’s the following year. Also the teachers are always happy to help with applications for UCAS, scholarships or apprenticeships, as well offer advice for interviews. After finishing Sixth Form, I am going to the University of Essex to study Mathematics. I have been accepted for the Future Teacher Scholars for a scholarship to hopefully then become a teacher.
