STUDENT LEADERSHIP

Beauchamps Sixth Form Ambassador programme

The 6th form student ambassador programme aims to develop student leadership skills through providing opportunities for students to run extra-curricular groups, take the lead on initiatives such as student voice and peer mentoring as well as host school events such as Parents’ Evenings.

The School Lead Ambassadors lead the team of over 75 student ambassadors and senior prefects with the help and support of the senior ambassadors.

Applications for ambassadors are annual and are through an application and formal interview process. Successful ambassadors wear a different lanyard to visually signify their leadership role within the school environment.  Lead Ambassadors wear the same lanyard but have an additional badge to highlight their significant contribution to the school and to highlight the prestige of the position they hold.

Each stage of this process is carefully crafted to put our students ahead of the competition when it comes to university and job interviews in the future as this programme is completely unique to Beauchamps High School and therefore provides an experience that is rare at such a young age.

Any questions about the programme should be directed to Mr Beaumont, Associate Assistant Head.

Lead Ambassador

This year, I have been honoured with the role of lead ambassador. Being Lead ambassador is a great opportunity to help improve our school and become a support for the whole student body as heads of the student voice. Personally, I would like to use my role to inspire positivity around the school and to help everyone feel welcome to be themselves.
Being senior ambassadors comes with a lot of responsibilities and a chance to make a real impact on our school community, an opportunity none of us will take lightly. I am excited to help spearhead this group to achieve the best for our school. I believe we all have great ideas that will help bolster our school to be the best it can be and am excited for the influence we have on our school now and in the future.

Lead Ambassador

Achieving the role of lead ambassador was a great honour of mine, as I really look forward to scenarios when I can use my role to better all aspects of the school and maximise our opportunities to improve education here at Beauchamps. It is integral to me that students ranging from lower years to those such as my peers receive the suitable support and resources they need to succeed. I thrive on ensuring that, as one body, we aim to fulfill our great potential as a school and settle for nothing less than our best.
Despite that though, I see education as one of many parts that make up a great school. Since I started, I was presented with several opportunities to expand not only my learning but my physical and mental ability, such as field trips or excursions related to the curriculum I was studying. Regardless of the pandemic, I was still able to meet all of my goals and target grades when it came to exams and that all comes from the extensive support outside of lessons which is something Beauchamps truly excels in. Therefore, I plan to build on this to provide extra teaching and mentoring sessions, resources and support for students of all ages and ability to ensure they can reach their potential, as I believe it is only right to pass down the great fortunate experiences I had to those around me. I want to make sure all students are able to express themselves through their subjects and achieve their academic and personal goals in and outside of the classroom. Along with my fellow senior ambassadors, we will collectively work to pursue a diverse, innovative and inspiring development for the future of Beauchamps.

Senior Ambassador

Being chosen as a senior ambassador is such an amazing opportunity for me because it grants me the ability to encourage, support and represent all other students at the school, from those who are just starting in Year 7 to my friends in Year 13. As a culturally enriched school, I believe that every student here should not only feel they have a safe place to turn to at school but also an ability to freely express their voice and this is what I plan to help with as a member of the Student Leadership Team. Everybody has problems adjusting when they first arrive here in Year 7, but ambassadors and prefects in school have consistently motivated us to work our hardest, and this is the legacy that I want to leave behind as I want to make an impact on the younger years of Beauchamps.

I am very grateful and proud to be a part of the Ambassador team and be a role model to my peers. Being a Senior Ambassador gives me the opportunity to give back to this school that has helped, supported and encouraged me over these past seven years to get me where I am today.
People’s mental health matters, which is why I want students to know they can come to me and feel safe and listened too. It is important to recognise that everyone has worries and fears at times and that’s okay. That does not mean they should feel the need to hide away. I want to use this role to set up a safe and confidential drop in for students where they can chat, get advice and not feel alone. It is important that everyone’s voice is heard.

I believe that as a team we have the opportunity to promote wellbeing to ensure everyone feels included and listened too. This will help students gain confidence and become a strong and positive individual.

Senior Ambassador

Throughout my time at Beauchamps, I have strived to make our school somewhere students feel comfortable and content in their studies: helping Year 10s with their English literature GCSEs, working with the Lexia team aiding Year 7s who are not the most confident in reading and visiting Year 9 forms with fun tasks and different topics to discuss. The day I leave this school I would love to say I have made an impact, whether that’s from helping a Year 7 to their class or helping someone pass their exams.

I started my journey in 2017 being a part of the ‘Student Voice’ team in Year 7, a ‘Senior Prefect’ in Year 11 and now ending my time here as a ‘Lead Ambassador’ in Year 13. I am forever grateful for these opportunities Beauchamps have given me, helping me develop my confidence in public speaking and making my path to university clear for me. I plan to study to become a teacher during university, inspired by the many great teachers who have shaped me into the young lady I am today. Pursuing an ambassador role has taught me skills I can use in my future career and help me get into the university of my choice.

Being an Ambassador is a great privilege and honour that I hope to embrace to its fullest. Throughout my seven years at Beauchamps I’ve been exceptionally fortunate to receive so many great opportunities. My priority as an Ambassador is to deliver similar opportunities to the students of Beauchamps, to give them a similar, great experience here at Beauchamps that I did.
Throughout the year, using our support network, I want to represent my fellow Beauchamps students by using the student voice platform and new, smaller more personal streets of communication. I feel it is very important that those attending Beauchamps feel like they’re having a safe, high-quality and beneficial experience. To ensure this, it is essential that communication is open and that staff and ambassadors are approachable, so that we – as a school – can continue to relentlessly progress and improve, to give everyone the best time.

Being an Ambassador of this great school is an achievement. My aim is to inspire those in the lower years, that someone like myself is able to be a leader. My time at Beauchamps, I’d say I’m quite thankful for the lessons and the experiences. Beauchamps has taught me to be resilient and disciplined and no matter how hard it gets, keep going. One thing I aspire to bring to the Ambassador team is positivity and enthusiasm, hopefully my energy will reflect on others and create a positive environment within the school.
As an Ambassador, I want to use my role to create change within the school and bridge the gap between students and teachers and work as one to make the school a better place.
